Enormous musical forces are at play when GRADIENCE unleash their fusion of trap-rap, black metal, metalcore and deathcore.

GRADIENCE is an uncompromising Danish metal act, pushing boundaries with their blackened rap-metal: an explosive fusion of black metal, metalcore, and rap. Gradience has, in a very short time, established itself as one of the most groundbreaking new bands on the Danish metal scene. The results from their first release, IRONSIGHT EP (May 2024), speak for themselves: A record deal with one of the world’s largest metal labels, Metal Blade Records. Label head Markus “Bart” Grasseck states: “Their innovation, intensity, and fearless creativity embody everything we stand for. The future of heavy music runs through bands like this.”. The band also garnered nominations for “EP of the Year” and “Newcomer of the Year” at the Danish Heavy Music Awards 2024, along with an overwhelmingly positive online reception accumulating in more than 400,000 total streams.

The debut single “This Abyss” was praised by Metal Hammer UK, stating: “Black metal has evolved immeasurably since the term was coined by Venom over 40 years ago, yet it’s always astounding when you find something utterly unique within the genre’s confines. Gradience are exactly that [..] mixing hip hop and explosive black metal with both elements delivered to the highest quality.”

In February 2025, the band was selected for the renowned Danish showcase ‘When Copenhell Freezes Over 2025’ at Store Vega, Copenhagen. Copenhell’s description of the band reads: “Enormous musical forces are at play when GRADIENCE unleash their fusion of trap-rap, black metal, metalcore and deathcore. With their EP Ironsight, the new Danish duo has created a collection of tracks that both split the listener in half with an onslaught of sonic beatings and shake the emotional register to its core.” Following the EP, Gradience released three standalone singles featuring some of the most prominent vocalists on the Danish metal scene—Filip Andersen of Hexis and Jesper Gün of Ghost Iris—as well as rising UK alternative metal star Cameron Humphrey of Love Is Noise. Their debut album will be released via Metal Blade Records in 2026, further cementing them as a genre bending force to be reckoned with on the international metal scene.
